Emily Sortor joined The Fine Art Group in February 2023 as an Appraisal Management Coordinator. In this role, she works with appraisers and regional managers to generate appraisal reports. Emily holds a Master of Arts degree in art history from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French language and literature from Grinnell College. She has ten years of professional experience in the fine art world and shares The Fine Art Group’s commitment to client experience. She draws on past work as a Studio Manager for contemporary artists where she provided project management for art sales of up to $50,000 in value. Work with The Museum of Modern Art, The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and other institutions has given her valuable collections management experience, while engagement with these nonprofits and others enriches her understanding of art’s value. She brings a critical lens to her approach to fine art and has written for publications like The Walker Art Center’s Walker Reader, mnartists.org, and Out & About in Greater Wilmington.
